Chaplain Gordon Daam was a local Pastor for 19 years, and then served as a foreign missions administrator for an additional 19 years. He has volunteered at the Kalamazoo County Jail since 2015.

Gordon Daam was born into a strong Christian family and accepted Christ at the age of 7.  After completing his formal education, he taught in a mission school in Zambia, then returned to serve as an associate pastor for 19 years.

He switched careers and became a self employed home remodeler and landlord, which afforded him the flexibility to volunteer as a mission administrator.  For the next 20 years he took 30 overseas trips to establish relationships with foreign led church planting ministries which were financially supported by the mission agencies he represented.

Age and some health issues made travel difficult, so Gordon looked for local ministry and God led him to his present service as a chaplain for Kalamazoo Jail Ministry.
