As a top priority, the KJM team is focused on creating pastors amongst the jail inmates both while inside the jail, and after they are released. Also, some inmates are moved to prison, in some cases for long stays in prison, and KJM has as a high priority, training these inmates to be prison preachers. At any given time, the KJM team will have multiple cases of inmates inside the jail who are soon being moved to prison, where the KJM team is working close with them to train them to be minister-servants, who can bring love and joy to the prisoners in the prison they will soon live in.
Also, KJM is focused on creating revival amongst the released inmates, who return to their lives, or create new lives, after being released from jail. There is revival going on in Kalamazoo, not just inside the jail, but also amongst those who have been released.
2 Therefore said he unto them, The harvest truly is great, but the labourers are few: pray ye therefore the Lord of the harvest, that he would send forth labourers into his harvest. 3 Go your ways: behold, I send you forth as lambs among wolves. (Luke 10:2-3)
KJM Board President, Jeff Porte, preached a sermon early in 2025 called “The Jail is the Epicenter of Revival in Kalamazoo.”
