Our mission at KJM is to be as close to GOD (Jesus) as possible during daily cell-to-cell ministry with the inmates inside the Kalamazoo County Jail. Kalamazoo Jail Ministry offers spiritual guidance and support to inmates through daily cell-to-cell ministry, and further through Sunday church services, and aftercare services. Our mission is to help the jail inmates with their closeness to GOD (Christ), by offering the jail inmates deep Bible study, joyous prayer and prayer groups, profound and accepting friendship and fellowship, theological breakthrough, and celebration and inebriation (see Eph 5:18) in Jesus Christ, who is Creator-GOD (Theos) who filleth all in all (see Eph 1:23). It is He (Christ) that works through us (KJM) to bring celebration and joy of GOD all throughout the Kalamazoo County Jail cells.

Christ came to preach (Mark 1:38), so our mission is to be like Him, and share the Gospel. And offering ministry to all the jail inmates is our joy, our effort, and our prayer.

Ministering, serving, and fellowshipping with the jail inmates reveals GOD’s presence, since whatever we do to the jail inmates, we do to Jesus (see Matt 25:40, Col 3:11). Psalm 34:5 says, “They looked unto him and were lightened.” And John 1:9 says, “That was the true Light, which lighteth every man that cometh into the world.” This closeness to GOD, feeling His presence during ministry, and with the jail inmates every day, is our mission at the Kalamazoo Jail Ministry.

Our mission is also to tell the community about what the LORD is doing inside the jail, for the lost and broken. We want to spread the news about the revelation of GOD throughout the community, where that can only change and lift up the community. For this reason, one of our main KJM mission verses is this one:

All of this is our mission Monday through Friday on the jail floor. GOD does it all (Philippians 1:6).
