Our mission at KJM is to be as close to GOD (Jesus) as possible, during ministry with the inmates in the Kalamazoo County Jail.

That is our number one priority, effort, and prayer. Christ came to preach, so our mission is to be like Him, and share the Gospel.

Ministering, serving, and fellowshipping with the jail inmates reveals GOD’s presence. Psalm 34:5 says, “They looked unto him and were lightened.” And John 1:9 says, “That was the true Light, which lighteth every man that cometh into the world” (KJV). This closeness to GOD, feeling His presence during ministry, and with the jail inmates every day, is our mission at the Kalamazoo Jail Ministry.

Our mission is also to tell the community about what the LORD is doing inside the jail, for the lost and broken. We want to spread the news about the revelation of GOD throughout the community, where that can only change and lift up the community. For this reason, one of our main KJM mission verses is this one:

All of this is our mission Monday through Friday on the jail floor. GOD does it all (Philippians 1:6).
