
This is Chaplain Floyd Williams, of Kalamazoo Jail Ministry. Chaplain Floyd is a Trustee at Galilee Baptist Church. He is part of the Kalamazoo Jail Ministry weekly mission team, called to cell-to-cell ministry. Chaplain Floyd also is a Kalamazoo Jail Ministry board member.
Floyd Williams is a seasoned property preservation specialist with a career spanning over two decades as Maintenance Supervisor, Renovations Contractor, and Facilities Manager. Specializing in student housing, Floyd has gained unique insights into managing large-scale properties and addressing the diverse needs of student communities.
Before retiring in 2019 due to injury, Floyd supervised maintenance operations for over 800 units, consistently ensuring high standards of service and safety. As an EPA-certified maintenance specialist and certified home and pest inspector, he is skilled in appliance repair, drywall application, and pool maintenance. His leadership has been pivotal in supporting diverse communities by spearheading preventative maintenance programs and optimizing service request systems that benefit college students, families, and seniors.
Additionally, Floyd has renovated three residential properties, showcasing his expertise and dedication to the real estate field. His accomplishments highlight his proficiency in overseeing planning, project management, and construction timelines. Floyd’s ability to assess existing structures and coordinate with skilled contractors was pivotal in transforming these properties.
A man of deep faith, Floyd’s commitment to God is central to his life. He extends his dedication beyond professional achievements by actively serving jail and prison inmates through outreach programs focused on rehabilitation and reintegration. This work underscores his belief in redemption and the transformative power of God’s grace.
Floyd is blessed to be in holy matrimony with Margi, his wife of 26 years, who is the love of his life and best friend. Together, they are proud parents of two adult sons who have further enriched their lives with one grandson and two granddaughters.
