This week I walked up to a cell with five smiley, happy young men. I talked to them for a few minutes, and then one of them, who was laying his bed, said that he was reading his Bible, and suddenly there was a smear of blood on the page, right at where GOD tells us that His name is I AM THAT I AM. I asked the men if I could take the Bible to my office to take a few pictures of what they were reporting. Here are a few of those pictures (more posted below):

The men did not have any colored pencils. I am sure of that because KJM had not had any colored pencils in a while, and we happened to be handing them out to the entire jail that day, since we just received a large donation of color pencils.
Here is an amazing write-up from the inmate who was reading the Bible when this happened. He reported that after it happened, he had some sort of experience of intense joy and blinding light. This sudden experiencing sunlight, where there is no sunlight, is something I have heard from inmates before, as I will explain below. Here is the inmate’s report:

The man who was the witness said that he was looking right in the direction of the inmate who was reading the Scripture when this happened, and the witness reported that the inmate seemed to have some sort of visible reaction of surprise or shock, and then joy, when this happened.
As for seeing the “sunlight,” that was one of a multiple aspects of the story which made it credible to me, since the inmate was describing something that I have had inmates report experiencing in the past, where they all describe this “sunlight” in the very same way. And look at these verses, which seem to describe the same phenomenon, the very same revelation of Christ:
For the Lord God is a sun and shield: the Lord will give grace and glory: no good thing will he withhold from them that walk uprightly (Psalm 84:11).
And he shall be as the light of the morning, when the sun riseth, even a morning without clouds; as the tender grass springing out of the earth by clear shining after rain (2 Sam 23:4).
And was transfigured before them: and his face did shine as the sun, and his raiment was white as the light (Matt 17:2).
Thy word is a lamp unto my feet, and a light unto my path (Psalm 119:105).
The sun shall be no more thy light by day; neither for brightness shall the moon give light unto thee:
but the Lord shall be unto thee an everlasting light, and thy God thy glory (Isaiah 60:19).
Then spake Jesus again unto them, saying, I am the light of the world: he that followeth me shall not walk in darkness, but shall have the light of life (John 8:12).
Turn us again, O Lord God of hosts, cause thy face to shine; and we shall be saved (Psalm 80:19).
And the light shineth in darkness; and the darkness comprehended it not (John 1:5).
Many more verses could have been cited. The first few listed describe GOD as being like sunlight, just like the inmate expressed. And look at this passage from the book Heavenly Man, by Brother Yun, a book that KJM has in every cell of the Kalamazoo County Jail, and which seems to be referring to a very similar revelation of Christ via His light:

So, do we think that GOD will only reveal Himself in this way to the “Bible heroes” of the past, or will He also reveal Himself in this way to our brothers and sisters inside the jail in the present day? The answer is of course the latter. I told the inmate that he was seeing GOD’s light, not sunlight: the inmate was seeing SON-light (the light of GOD’s face, see Ps 80:19), since there is no sunlight or rays of sun in any way reachable into that particular cell inside our jail.
I have heard of this phenomenon this from inmates before, and I have had a few such very closely related experiences of this myself. It’s as if GOD shows us a very limited view of His being (see 1 Cor 13:12), where He appears like intense sunlight. The inmate who reported seeing the “sunlight” said:
“Chaplain Jeff, right when I saw the blood, the sun shined in the room and I could not much for a moment, since the sun war right in my eyes.”
And as stated above, this is impossible, as no line of a sunray could reach into that cell, to the table in the middle of the cell where the inmate said he was sitting. So, hence, the better theorization is that this was the light of Christ, of course:
And as he journeyed, he came near Damascus: and suddenly there shined round about him a light from heaven (Acts 9:3).
Another notable instance of this “sunlight” of GOD experience with a jail inmate is from a few years ago and during the heart of the COVID epidemic, when I was the lead chaplain at Van Buren County Jail, wherein which the sunlight (Son-light) of GOD was also revealed to a wonderful inmate named “Parris,” in almost an identical way. Parris was in Van Buren County Jail for a year-and-a-half. He was an avid devil worshipper for the first year, but then the said he was converted to Christ while overhearing me talk to an inmate about Joseph in Genesis 39. Parris was in jail for being (falsely) accused of abusing a child. After his conversion, Parris became a hungry follower of Jesus while in jail, and when his trial came, he was utterly seeped in prayer and faith. Parris was found not guilty (he was falsely accused), and he told me that when he heard, “not guilty,” at the end of his trial, he said:
“Chaplain, I was so happy! There must have been some sunlight coming in through a window through the ceiling of the courthouse or something, because suddenly there was bright sunlight, and I could not see for a few moments because the sun was so bright, and the sun was right in my eyes.”
Amazed, I responded:
“Bro, there aren’t windows in the ceiling of the courthouse.”
I told the inmate that he saw a glimpse of the light of GOD, in whatever limited way that GOD allowed brother Parris to see GOD’s light that day, in that moment, which is a moment similar to the parting of the Red Sea for Moses and the Israelites.
Here are the remainder of the pictures, and one video, of the blood on the Bible:

It is interesting to note which verses the blood touches on the pages. If we take that to have some significance, we witness something remarkable.
The inmate who was reading the Bible, and who saw the Son-light, immediately concluded that the location of the blood in the Bible meant the blood was associated with Exodus 3:14, where GOD tells us His name: I AM THAT I AM. But if you take a look at the above pictures, the blood connects “What is his name? what shall I saw unto them?” (Ex 3:13b) to Exodus 4:2 (the entire verse), since the blood goes through the “2” and seems to center in the middle of the words of Ex 4:2. Here is Exodus 4:2:
And the Lord said unto him, What is that in thine hand? And he said, A rod.
And if we go with the idea that the blood connects the two verses, from where the blood touches the words, we have this message:
The God of your fathers hath sent me unto you; and they shall say to me, What is his name? what shall I say unto them? And the Lord said unto him, What is that in thine hand? And he said, A rod.
We know that the rod is Christ (GOD) (see Isaiah 11:1, among other verses). (There are a few instances where the devil [specifically, Lucifer, who wants to copy GOD for evil, see Isaiah 14:14) acts as a rod [see Dan 2:43 KJB wording only, among other passages). I think the message the inmate was to hear is that GOD’s name is I AM THAT I AM, but GOD’s name is also Christ, and His rod and staff shall bring comfort (Ps 23:4b). If the blood was altered in its positioning on the page, and its orientation to the words, even slightly, combining the verses to form a sentence would not have made any sense–but instead, a perfect sentence is formed by using the blood to connect sentences, and of all the things the connected sentence formations says, is it announces that Christ is GOD.
